Just wanted to give an update on this very sucessfull event....we smokedabout 73 racks of spare ribs and sold them ALL!!!!!  I think we sold about 225 plates in the span of 6 hrs!!!  An man were they good...All in all, between the plate sales, drink sales, desert sales and donations, we were able to give the family about $1600!!!! Donald, if you want to remove this, that's fine, but I thought I would try to get the word out anyway.  My wife had a co-worker lose her battle (7 weeks!!!) with cancer last week and we are doing a take out rib plate this Saturdat, 21 Mar, at the Wal-Mart in Wilson NC. Dude, you gotta shoot me an email when you find out stuff like this...sure would have loved to have been there for that also, plus I bet I could have taken your picture in focus...  That place is up the road a little bit, so it would have been great to see....And you are right on the ribs, no one does them better than me!!!

Just finished cookin' up 250 fresh ground burgers and dogs for the guys down here at Shaddy J (Seymour Johnson AFB) for the guys...a ''great job on our latest graded inspection'' thrown by our commanders...So guess who was the cook???  Yeppers....me!!!!!  So, the weather here was great and sunny!!!!

Where are you traveling from?  Would it be possible for you to find a spot from home for both the pig and cooker?  It might cost a littl more, but it might be easier.  But to answer your question, I don't know much about TI.  Have you tried the internet?

Yea, the bbq galores closing was a shock to me also...I did find wood for sale at the state farmers markets, so you can try there...don't know exactly what they have, but lots of dealers..I get alot of my stuff from the internet, but no wood yet, but I have found some sites.. Pickin', I know what you mean, and yea, the kcbs is a great org and I kinda like that style also. But it sure would be great to be good at this whole hog thing....But we are new in it and we are making connections about finding other contests and such.
