Gotta second Nahunta...at either location, just call ahead and place your order...No idea on the wood deal other than to try to find someone w/ a fruit orchard and see what they have to say...maybe find a sawmill/woodmill down there and see if they have something or know of someone who deals w/ hickory..

Not lately, it just hasn't been on my radar of things to do/research. I have been out to that site a while back just to see what comps are coming up though..Keep us posted on what you find and I'll keep my ears open also...

Don, that sounds great. Another cool idea from the reviews would be a GPS location...some of these places are out there, and the dog laying on the rt side of the road might have moved...you know that dog, where just as soon as you pass him, you need to take a left turn???...But this is a good idea for us. NC tends to focus just on whole hog, or pork in general.. I have seen more and more KCBS events around the state, I know that Rockingham has, or has had one in the past, along w/ one up towards the mountains. Go ahead and invest in the Weber brand chimney...well worth the money. Also, for indirect, it doesn't make a difference, you are just lighting the charcoal. It's where you place the lit coals determines the heat placement.
