    Re: Where ya'll from????

Hi everyone, I stumbled upon NCBBQ.com today and decided I would join. My mane is Bill, I live in Chadbourn NC. I like to grill and smoke.
I have a NC pig cooker on a trailer,  Kenmore flame thrower, Holland Heritage and a Masterbuilt 7-in-1. I am a member of other forums and spend right much time in them. I like to share my pictures of Q, is there some way to attach the to my post?

I grew up in Greensboro.  Now live outside DC with a nice cabin in the Shenandoah moutains.
Smoke on a 22" weber with a smokenator.  Best invention ever!
Always miss Stamey's and get down as often as possible.

Welcome all! Actually preparing for our annual block party this weekend. I was deciding between cooking shoulders or whole hog..just got some stitches out so figured shoulders would be easier to handle this weekend.

    Re: Where ya'll from????

Hi everyone. I'm Big Mike and live in the big town of Unionville, NC. Unionville is just north of Monroe, NC along Hwy 601. I was born in Sampson County, NC, parents moved my brother and I to Fayetteville when I was 6. Lived there until age 19 and then attended UNC Charlotte. Been in Union County NC for going on 21 years now. I was born and raised on Eastern NC BBQ. These boys around the Charlotte area think they know how to cook BBQ, but us Eastern NC boys have it figured out. I am a recreational cooker for family and friends. We cook butts about 3 times a year at work with the help of a fellow that grew up in Macclesfield, NC near Wilson. We have fun with the Eastern NC sauce we make and have converted all of our coworkers.

After cooking on Charcoal for many years, I recently purchased my first pig cooker. I had been searching for many, many years and had debated on building one myself. We recently picked up a construction project in Grifton, NC and after traveling through Goldsboro several times, I finally timed it right to visit Eastern Metal Works in LaGrange, NC. (252) 566-9486 Mr. Larry Williams hooked me up. I now cook on gas with a small chip box in the back. The cooker has two front burners, great for steaming shrimp or oysters, while using the other burner to cook stew or maybe meatballs. We have been using the cooker for tailgating at our High School Football Games.

Anyway, it's a pleasure talking and sharing my story with each one of you.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Down east tomorrow visiting the family. Take Care, Big Mike
