You just have to try this to believe it! It tastes like a very moist spice cake. It freezes beautifully.
½ pound mild bulk sausage, crumbled ½ teaspoon ground
nutmeg 1 ¾ cup sugar ½ teaspoon ground allspice 3
eggs ¼ teaspoon ground cloves 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup peeled apple,
grated ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup pecans, chopped
¼ teaspoon baking soda 2 cups whipped dessert topping 1
teaspoon ground cinnamon
In large mixer bowl, cream together the
uncooked sausage and sugar until light. Add eggs and continue beating 5
minutes. Thoroughly stir together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and spices.
Add to sausage mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Fold
in apple and pecans. Pour into greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a 350 degree
oven 50 to 55 minutes. Serve with whipped dessert
